What is a UTI?

A UTI is a common infection that occurs in any part of the urinary system, which includes the kidneys, bladder, ureters, and urethra. They are usually caused by bacteria entering the urinary tract, leading to symptoms such as a strong, persistent urge to urinate, a burning sensation during urination, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and pelvic pain. UTIs can be painful and inconvenient, but they are generally treatable with antibiotics. Early detection and treatment are important to prevent complications.

What is SheMed™?

SheMed™ is a female founded, female run women’s health company that focuses on at-home UTI and yeast infection Test-To-Treat® solutions. We believe in making women’s health a priority and providing education and resources for women all across the United States and beyond.

What are the symptoms of a UTI?

Urinary Tract Infections are common among women and can cause a range of uncomfortable symptoms. You might experience a strong, persistent urge to urinate, even when little comes out. Burning sensation during urination, cloudy or strong-smelling urine, and pelvic pain, especially in the center of the pelvis and around the area of the pubic bone, are also common signs. In some cases, you may notice blood in your urine. It's important to address these symptoms early, as untreated UTIs can lead to more serious health issues.

What are the symptoms of a yeast infection?

Vaginal yeast infections are also a common issue for many women, characterized by a range of uncomfortable symptoms. You might notice intense itching, burning, and irritation in the vaginal area. A thick, white, odorless discharge that resembles cottage cheese is also typical. Other symptoms include redness, swelling, and pain during urination or sex. If you experience these symptoms, it's important to seek treatment to alleviate discomfort and prevent further complications.

How do I know if SheMed is right for me?

Our SheMed™ tests are designed to be kept in your medicine cabinet for future vaginal health emergencies. We created our tests to be the fastest, most efficient way to get your UTI or yeast infection treated from the comfort of your home or even while traveling. Our tests are designed for females only and are not intended for anyone under the age of 18, pregnant, or anyone equipped with a catheter.

Is SheMed™ travel friendly?

Our kits are U.S. travel friendly so make sure to pack your kit before your next big adventure. Have access to the care and treatment you need anytime, anywhere.

How long does it take to get my medication?

The test itself only takes a couple of minutes and can be completed at any hour of the day. If medication is prescribed after our offline clinical evaluation, you will be able to pick-up your medication at your preferred pharmacy that day depending on your pharmacy’s hours.

Do we have to pay for the cost of the prescription?

No, you do not! SheMed™ covers the cost of the prescription medication so all you have to worry about is getting better. As we like to say… you get the test, we pay for the rest!

What is the expiration date for the test?

Our tests have a shelf life of 24 months.

What is the difference between a UTI and yeast infection?

Sometimes it’s tricky to differentiate between a UTI and a yeast infection. While a UTI primarily affects the urinary system, causing symptoms like a persistent urge to urinate and burning during urination, a yeast infection affects the vaginal area, leading to symptoms like intense itching, burning, irritation, and a thick, white discharge that resembles cottage cheese. Recognizing these distinct symptoms is important in seeking the appropriate treatment to find relief more quickly. If you are still unsure about your vaginal health concerns, don’t fear, SheMed has a bundle pack for UTI/yeast infections so you can test for both and get the correct treatment quickly and accurately.bsite that you build in Webflow.
